The system for money transfer is supported on the following browsers: Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge. If you can’t complete the transaction it is advised to use another browser.
- Does it take longer to transfer money with the new solution?
Transfers are made by a request to the system. Requests are expected to be processed within three business days, however, longer processing times may occur during public holidays. You will receive an email when your request has been processed.

- How do I transfer money to an inmate?
When you need to transfer money to an inmate, you must use the money transfer KRIL. You will find KRIL here: https://kril.kriminalforsorgen.dk
You will need this information:
- The inmate’s KØLS card number. (This number can be found on the inmate's ID card).
- The first four digits of the person's date of birth.
You can transfer a minimum of DKK 100 and a maximum of DKK 7,500.
To ensure that the payment goes to the right inmate, the KØLS card number and date of birth must be entered when creating the payment. If you are in doubt about the process, you can find a guide here.
- Can I make a money transfer even if I do not have a NemID?
Yes, you can. If you do not have a NemID, you must create a user profile in KRIL. You do this by clicking on "I do not have NemID" in the top right corner and then select "Create user profile". Then you have to fill in your information where after you will receive a confirmation email with a link to activate your user profile.
- What is a user profile - and how do I create the profile?
A user profile is your own personal profile in KRIL, which you must use when you need to make a money transfer. If you have NemID, your user profile is created automatically when you log in for the first time. If you do not have a NemID, click on "I do not have a NemID" in the top right corner and select "Create user profile".
- I do not have a credit card. Are there other options for transferring money to an inmate?
No, it is not possible to use other methods than KRIL - not even bank transfers. You must have a VISA, VISA Dankort or MasterCard to use KRIL.
- Can I use MobilePay?
No, it is not possible to use other methods than credit cards. You must have a VISA, VISA Dankort or MasterCard to use KRIL.
- Can I deposit less than DKK 100?
No, there is an amount limit of at least DKK 100 per deposit.
- Why am I not allowed to transfer more than DKK 7,500?
The amount limit of DKK 7,500 is set on the basis of the Money Laundering Act.
- I have made a payment, why is the money not withdrawn yet?
The money will only be withdrawn from your card once your deposit has been approved.

- My payment has been declined, do you withdraw the money from my account?
No, when a payment is declined, no money will be withdrawn from your card.
You will receive an email when your request has been processed. If your payment is rejected, it appears from the email that no money has been deducted from your account.
- Does the inmate get the money right away?
No, once you have created a payment, it must first be processed by an administrator. Requests are expected to be processed within three business days, however, longer processing times may occur during holidays. You will receive an email when your request has been processed.
- Why has my payment been declined?
If your payment has been declined, it may be due to an error in one or more of the information you provided when creating the payment. Double check that you have written the correct KØLS card number and / or date of birth - and try again. - My user is blocked, how do I reactivate it?
Your user might be blocked if you enter your password incorrectly five times. You will then receive an email informing you that your user profile is blocked. In the email there is also a link to reactivate the profile. Remember to check your spam filter if you do not see the email in your inbox.

- I have created a payment through the "old" money transfer solution (bank transfer), what do I do now?
The old money transfer solution has not yet been shut down. Contact the institution where the inmate (receiver) is serving and ask them to transfer the amount into the inmate's account. However, it is important that you use the new solution (KRIL) in the future, as the old solution (bank transfer) will be closed at the end of 2021.
